Thyme to Celebrate! The Special Note Heidi Wrote in Her New Book Made Me Tear Up.
If you've been following me over the years, you've probably seen some of my photos from branding sessions with my friend Heidi Villegas of Healing Harvest Homestead. Well… now you can see them in her new book! The Homesteader's Guide to Natural Wellness launches November 17th 2026, and I got an early signed copy.
When I opened the cover and read, "You are amazing! This book is great because of you!" the tears came. Seeing my photos in print is special. Seeing them help tell the story of someone I care about is even better.
This book is all Heidi: her knowledge, her heart, and years of hard work. I'm just grateful I got to be there with my camera along the way.
It's all about building your own home apothecary with herbs and essential oils, the same things I've watched Heidi grow, gather, and teach for years.
Heidi isn't someone who just started dabbling in herbs. She's been doing this work and teaching it for nearly two decades. She's a community herbalist, a certified aromatherapist, a skin-care formulator, and a teacher with a master's in education, so she knows how to explain things in a way that actually sticks.
Her own story started with chronic health struggles, and herbs and essential oils became part of how she found her way back to feeling well. That's why her teaching is so practical and so careful about safety. She's lived it.

I've watched her in her gardens, her kitchen, and her classes, and she has a gift for making something that feels intimidating feel doable. That's exactly what this book does. Whether you're brand new or have been making your own remedies for years, it's a guide you'll keep coming back to.
I'm learning that showing up and being visible isn't self-serving. It's how we lift others as we rise. (Thanks Joie Gharrity @ JoieG113) So today I'm lifting up my friend, and I hope you'll help me do it.
The Homesteader's Guide to Natural Wellness is available for pre-order on Amazon now. Go show her some love!
